Skeyndor Launches Mesoscience Machine at Vurve Signature Salon, Chennai

I am someone who loves to experiment with her skin and styles. And recently I was invited for an event, which was going to be a whole new experience for me. Who doesn’t want to look pretty and beautiful in any point of age?

I was invited to an event which happened recently and did get to experience the Mesoscience machine at the Vurve Salon. 

A little about the Mesoscience machine  and Skeyndor :

As written earlier there are 4 different ways to get a massage done according to your skin type. Most of the massages are done first with hands and then for the deeper penetration the machine is used. Which helps you give the glow and charm, that gets lost cause of daily stress.

You can see results in just first session it self. So light so relaxing and makes you feel good from within. There are various products which can be used at home also.

 

My experience : 

As I was being told about the massage and while I was taken , I was really excited . I was taken to the room and was given  a Cplus massage according to my skin type. Which is normal. The lady started to massage and , I started to feel light in the first round it self. The mesoscienec machine did the wonders must say. I did feel more stress free and I was glowing.

FOUNDATION BASE- HOW, WHICH, WHAT TO BUY?

 

Being my second beauty blog. I hope, to cover certain things what have not been written or told about. Recently I had a great difficulty to decide which foundation is good and affordable and something which I could use for a daily basis. Alas after a lot of research  and talking to like a billion people I finally found one base which I think is perfect for me on my current situations. 

Lets start with what is a foundation : Foundation is a skin-coloured makeup applied to the face to create an even, uniform colour to the complexion, to cover flaws and, sometimes, to change the natural skintone. Some foundations also function as a moisturizer, sunscreen, astringent or base layer for more complex cosmetics.

A foundations covers your basic face tone and if you wish to cover your under eye and blemishes, pimples more you add a concealer with it. But a foundation is definitely a must buy for any girl out there. For more even tone and brighter look for your face, for daily basis.

P.S:Do not forget to clean up your make- up by the end of the day, with a tissue, baby oil, coconut oil or any make- up remover. 

Phase 2: Which foundation: Foundations are a varied one but someone who wanted something affordable and an everyday use one. I will be giving you options from low to high . 

The most most important fact is to know your tone. It makes it easier to buy your foundation.Always go to a drug  store or make up store to select a few shades that seem close to your natural skin tone. Make sure to check it in natural light, since stores usually have fluorescent bulbs. Try the color on your jawline, not on your wrists and hands to check . As everyone has a different skin tone and type always try it on your skin for a day and come back and buy it. DO NOT HURRY TO BUY YOUR FOUNDATION. GIVE IT A DAYS TIME.

Price 2500. 

Its pricey but a one time buy and you can be assured to chill for like 2 years. Most recommended. 

How to apply a foundation base.

1. Apply to skin using a sponge or foundation brush.
2. Blend with fingers, sponge or brush.
3. Using fingers are the best way to blend the cream and its covers all the part evenly, give it time to set.
4. Before you apply the power.
5. Practice practice till you get to blend the right way. 
6.  Most important point, use 2 fingers and dab all the way, is the key.

Me time at Hyatt Regency’s SPA!

While everyone is showing you what to wear and how to get dressed this Diwali. I have come up with a better way to relax yourself! 😀 Join me and let me share you an estatic experience I had in Siddh Spa at Hyatt Regency Chennai. 

The  Hyatt Regency Chennai, is one of the favourite hubs. Be it the restaurants or the 365 A.S., There is something about the place which makes you feel comfortable. The service and the food is just close to heart.I was invited for a special treat at the Siddh Spa in Hyatt itself. Must say I was a excited, who doesn’t like to get a special spa treatment.

So when I entered I was greeted by Mr Dinesh Goswami, the Spa director. Very warm welcome, He showed me around the place. They have the largest gym.

I was shown around the spa, the spa has about 5 rooms, Jacuzzi, steam and a huge dressing room. Oh oh the best part they have  a couples room also for all you couples out there.

I quickly changed and was taken to the relaxing room, where i was told to relax and have some fresh juice and fill a form . About myself, which would help them to give me a better massage.

 Then I was taken  to my room and the first cleaned my leg in some flower petals water and told me to relax while they did so …

P.S: I was already calm and excited, with the care and pampering i was getting. Totally ready to de- stress and forget the world behind . 

So before I talk about my experience let me tell you a bit about Siddh and the kind of treatments, the products are Eco friendly and very safe to use. So here it goes:

My experience:

Relaxation at its best. The pressure points were pressed with ultimate perfection. The therapist  worked on every part one by one. She kept asking about me being comfortable and If I was getting the right pressure. The massages was such a stress – buster, must say. I almost slept through the therapy. That’s the best part isn’t it? Going to a whole new place, and getting the pampering you wish for. I was totally energised after the massage and was ready to take the world.  I would definitely give the therapy a 5 on 5 and a must recommended one. Its better then the few spa  I have gone to in Chennai.  

Who doesn’t like to be pampered and get the best out of it. So do not waste time and book your appointment right now. Reasonable and perfect pampering this season time. Or actually any day.

The Italian Delight!

The little Italy at Nungambakkam is one stop for the best Italian in town.

Being it vegetarian, I was a little hesitant at first. But the decision to make a stop to this restaurant was worth .

Let me start with thanking Mr Vimal Shah and the excellent Head chef and manager Mr Pradeep  Shetty, for making us feel at home. With the lovely food coming by and the finger licking food making us want more 😀

 

The Food review:

Soup and appetizers :

 

Crema Di Fungi

Pomodoro Limestrone

 

Crema di fungi – the mushroom and cream based cream soup. The creamy texture and the right soft mushrooms, makes you feel warm and comforting. I did try the Pomdoro which is a tomato based one. Definitely for my pick it would be the crema di fungi.

Supreme Nachos

Lets Nacho the supreme style. What a better way to start your meal with this finger- licking filled with cheese and veggies nachos. Lettuce, Tomato, Olives, Jalapenos & Melted Cheese it tasted like a lot of love had been drizzled in. The crunchy freshly baked nachos with the fresh veggies and hot cream cheese is to die for and the best I  have had by far in the city. The salsa sauce also was well blended with oregano and tasted well with the nachos.

Spinaci Salsa

The crispy bread and creamy spinach dip was the second starter we had. The dip is what did the wonders of just melting in my mouth . Yes there are more options available for the dips and breads you can choose from.

Pace Di Potato

Main Course:

Can you believe it? A potato skin fried dish. Yes this is what Pace di potato is.. Loved loved this dish the most from all the three.. Unique in its way, not too fried, not oily just yummness in my mouth. The mayo red chilli dip was the perfect combo to complete the dish. Do do try this dish.. Double thumbs up!

Chefdon Pizza (Special)

This pizza was freshly and specially baked for us, What a delight it was. Being a fan of thin crust pizza, this automatically became my favourite. The veggies and panner did good justice to the crispy pizza. Good quantity for 3-4 people and every bite you take was loaded and mouthful.

Pasta del Barone

Tangy, zingy, spicy Ravioli , was spot on my kinds pink sauce based pasta. The spinach filling inside the ravioli was a great attempt, as it made the pasta more tasty and spicy in every bite. Must must try this one. Double thumbs up.

Risotto di Verdre

Not being a big fan of the risotto but did make me want to try, as the presentation of the dish was bang on. Nicely sprinkled with herbs, and the taste soft and melting in the mouth. The right salt, sauces did make me start liking risottos. Cannot believe I just said that 😀

PRIMAVERA

The aroma of olive oil tossed noodles were the cookie points were taken.Trying to be healthy and still want to eat Italian , there you go best dish to have. This veggies and noodles combo was a win win.Do try this one too.

Desserts:

 

TIRAMISU

CHOCOLATE BOMB

 

Apologies for not uploading the Sizzling Chocolate walnut picture, but yes the soft soft brownie and some lovely ice cream and the hot hot sauce was to die for. The  spongy and fluffy brownie did get cookie points too.. Double thumbs up.

Tiramisu being my favourite dish, did get the first attention. Soft, delicious is the way it should be. Having a sweet tooth makes you want to have more, but the calories you take in do make you run a little longer the next day 😀

The last but not the least Chocolate Bomb, the hot chocolate lava falling when you cut the fluffy portion is the melting point. Yum yum totally yummy, I did finish the whole myself. Guilty as charged. But definitely worth it!

Oh oh before I forget we did try the Mojito aslo which was the refreshing thing to gulp all the flip-smacking food we ate:D

Verdict:

I have by far never ever given a 5 on 5 to any restaurant, But this way did beat it, the service, food is perfect as they say. Thank you for making us want to come again and again. The lip- smacking food and the chef himself making a point to come and look at us enjoying the food was the cheery on the top. Thank you Pradeep sir.

Guys do go and enjoy the lovely italian food at Little Italy and spread the word:D

chan chan chan .. The sound of the earrings.. Made me want to wear them and dance. The  colourful pom pom jumping  and turning around with me. The detail of every jhumka, anklet, necklace is so intricate and pretty. Made me fall in love with jewellery all over again.

A glow in the dark <3

 

When all your senses activate. When just realising that if one of your senses stop working. WHAT would you do? Let’s all start with thanking God for blessing us. 😀

Recently I went for an exhibition which was showcased at Dialogue in the Dark.

Where we were taken in a dark room, a lovely voice spoke to us and guided us all the way . The things I felt, heard, touched and sensed made me realised , that so many time we fail to use our other senses. We have been lucky and blessed to be the way we are. I thank Anant the owner of the DID to give us such an amazing opportunity! 

 

We  touched some lovely jewelry from Jewlot . Some earrings, jhumkas, wedding sets, north and south Indian. Some really beautiful jewelry.  

Well I had a fascinating experience while touching one of the pieces , I  don’t quiet remember what it’s called. But  a south Indian mala ( necklace) made of beautiful beads. Somehow I actually guessed the colour right , without even seeing or actually evening know what exactly hoe the piece looks. I told them that it’s red in colour. To my shock and others it was the colour. 

I would say the best 45 minutes of my life. I would not give you more details on what else we did. But its a truly beautiful experience one should not miss.

Aginomoto and it’s being!

Who doesn’t like Chinese. The fear of Aginomoto definitely makes us think if its safe to have it. Recently, I was called for a seminar on Aginomoto and its truth and facts.

Monosodium glutamate or MSG or Aginomoto is a very commonly used food additive in chips, chinese food.  This desirable taste is called “umami” or the 5^th basic taste sense.

MSG is a sodium salt of glutamic acid (GA).GA is a non-essential because it can be synthesized in the body from other substrates.Interestingly, natural glutamate (from fruits, vegetables and meat) is a Levo-isomer and is bound to other proteins and peptides in food. Bound glutamate is slowly released during digestion and absorbed according the body’s requirements.

So there was this seminar I was called at Grt hotels  for the Seminar of Truths and Facts about #Ajinomoto! #FBAIinChennai. We got introduced to Mr. Atsushi Mishuku , the  Director & General Manager , Mr. Govinda Biswas, the Marketing Manager , Mrs Dharini Krishnan, R.D.President of Indian Diabetic Association , Mrs. Devisri Sundaram ,Assistant Professor and Dr. Chef Vinoth Kumar, the CEO of Sai Institutions & world record holder

To my surprise Aginomoto is Veg. Yes the GREEN DOT!

What is MSG?

Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is the sodium salt of glutamic acid.  and a form of glutamate. Amino acids are naturally occurring in our bodies and once linked up, they form proteins.  Glutamate is a naturally occurring amino acid that is found in nearly all foods, especially high protein foods such as dairy products, meat and fish and in many vegetables. Foods often used for their flavouring properties, such as mushrooms and tomatoes, have high levels of naturally occurring glutamate and here is the  Benefit of MSG.

Doctor Dharini says free Glutamate is even found in breast milk. Mr. Govinda Biswas, the Marketing Manager ,  said that it’s important that we spread the word and make msg/ aginomoto a part of meals. Dr. Chef Vinoth Kumar, made us some Panner 65 and made us taste them. The add of Aginomoto made it more tasty and crispy.

 

One thing I have understood that Adding aginomoto has made a difference to my style of cooking. Recently I cooked stir fried veggies added aginomot and the taste was more yummier than other days. So its sure that Aginomot is safe to eat, generally and not regularly.

“Concert Collection BY Palam Silks!

Palam weaves classical music into Kanchivaram saris, Launches the

“Concert Collection” this music season

 

Chennai, December 29 th , 2016: First of its kind in India to satiate music lovers. Palam Silks launched

“Concert Collections” to drape it right for this music season. The timeless ragas of Carnatic music string together 7 swaras to create the magic of music. The master weavers of Kanchivaram weave silk and satin to create the magic of traditional Indian silk sari.

Now Palam Silks, the boutique design house that specialises in intriguing, refreshing interpretations of kanchivaram silk sarees, has succeeded in weaving together two grand traditions; Carnatic music and Kanchivarams. The result is the instant classic called the Concert Collection.

Created in collaboration with Carnatic ethnomusicologist, composer and singer Dr. Sriram Parasuram, the Concert Collection gives gorgeous, shimmering and sparkling form to five beautiful Carnatic ragas. Dr. Sriram and Palam  weavers have turned the notations of these ragas into elegant designs that now grace the saris of our Concert Collection.

The five ragas, chosen for their popularity and distinctive character, are Shankarabharanam,

Thodi, Bhairavi, Kalyani and Kambhoji. Each saree represents each of the ragas.

Dr. Sriram Parasuram has also created five unique compositions, one in each raga, which meld the actual sounds of weaving with classical music, to make an aural accompaniment to the visual feast.

Speaking about the Concert Collection, Mrs. Jeyasree Ravi of Palam Silks said, ;Palam has always striven to innovate, while at the same time preserving the purity of the heritage of Kanchivaram silk. I like to compare our efforts to the manodharma sangeetham of Carnatic music, where the artist improvises and invents, while staying true to tradition. Slim-fit collections and Palam Hues were other collections that were introduced by Palam and were well received by customers. We are proud of our association with Chennai vibrant music season, beginning with our & isai payanam& , a special shuttle service for rasikas during the season, and now, the Concert Collection.

Dr. Sriram Parasuram said, Whether it is sound, visual, rangoli or saree or a bridge, everything comes from design, something that pleases our self. Here, we took something that is of design – a raaga, comprising of notes and arrangement, and turned it into the design of a saree. One is a sonic arrangement and the other is a visual arrangement. We have translated five of the most basic

Carnatic ragas, five big pillars, into the design of the sarees and thats a beautiful bridge. We have also segued the soundscape of each of these ragas, each in a 30-40 second piece, into the sounds of weaving, making auditory set pieces to go with the sarees.
